TK Burk: Jesus is not a failure Messiah: The Six Testimonies of Daniel 9:24 (2019)

  shutterstock_5568781 Biblical prophecy is rather more than just the prophecy of the last days found in its words is proof of both the id and authenticity of God's true Messiah. This is what Jesus stated: "Study the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they shall bear witness of me." John 5:39.) He additionally stated, "These are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses and in the prophets, and in the psalms concerning me, shall be fulfilled." 24:44.) These words are proof that the early church used Jesus as their solely true Messiah. Some examples are:

  1. Philip stated, "We have found him, of whom Moses is in the law and the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph," when he informed Nathanael why he believed Jesus to be the anticipated Messiah (see John 1:45).
  2. Paul “explained and testified to the kingdom of God by persuading them of Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from prophetic morning until evening”, when he testified of Jesus (see Acts 28:23).
  3. And Paul used statements like "But now the righteousness of God is manifest without law, and that the law and the prophets bear witness of it," to testify within the writings of his letter (Romans Three:21

One key to determining the right image of Bible prophecy Daniel 9: 24-27 There is one week distinction between weeks 69 and 70. The beginning of this week 70 may be inferred from understanding when the six factors found in Daniel 9:24 have been crammed in. If all these six points are not yet fulfilled, such because the dispensationalists declare, there have to be an opening to permit them time to occur, but if these passages have already occurred, as the fulfilled eschatologists declare, there can be no cause for the scriptures, which would imply Daniel's 70th week is now over.

Although both prophetic camps agree In this verse, I observed that dispensationalists have a tendency to think about Daniel 9 verse esta 24. This is true in articles and movies produced towards the angle of the preterists. Perhaps the rationale why they will't speak about this is that (1) in the event that they present that these six points have now been completed, they’ll nullify the rationale for the difference between weeks 69 and 70, or (2) if they say that Jesus did not full what He got here to do, all of which could be present in these six paragraphs, then their ministers, like critics of Christianity, would say that Jesus is a "failed Messiah." This last point could seem harsh, but if one examines the anti-Jewish rabbis' missionary writings working to "translate" Jewish Christians, they’ll see that this is exactly the strategy they’re taking.

To offer you an instance of this, I embrace a survey of a main anti-mission group referred to as "Judaism for Judaism" (www.jewsforjudaism.org), found in the "How to Respond" part of their web site's "Reference Center", to reply the following query: can we ensure that Jesus' guarantees to return are false predictions? "The writer replied," In response to Jesus, it is prophesied that sure undefined individuals will not die until they see either "the Son of man coming into his kingdom" (Matthew 16:28) or "seeing the kingdom of God afterwards." has come by power ”(Mark 9: 1), or see“ The Kingdom of God ”(Luke 9:27).” He then specified how he made such an statement utilizing the next biblical photographs:

  1. Jesus stated that no less than some of the disciples will survive and be present to witness the Second Coming and the Finish (see Mark 13: Three, Mark 13:13; Matthew 24: 3, Matthew 24: 9). [19659004TheearlyChristiancommunitywasconvincedoftheimmediatereturnofJesus'MessiahtotheopeningofthekingdomofGodForthisMatthew(Matt9:1)[Matt9:1]
  2. Three: 2.)

Of this stuff, this anti-Jesus article ends with an uproar, as a result of Jesus did not come as quick as promised, and since Matthew 10:23 did not happen “by the time the original apostles died,” then Jesus ’promise remains "Unfulfilled" and since so, "Jesus simply never returns."

Judaism is not the only group to make use of the "coming soon" texts of Jesus and his apostles to show that Jesus was a failed Messiah, agnostic, atheist, and humanist as well as being the rationale for denying Jesus. One such case might be found within the writings of atheist Bertrand Russell:

"I am concerned about the Christ, who appears in the Gospels, taking the Gospel as such a report, and there you can find some things that do not seem to be very wise. First of all, he must have thought that his second coming would take place in the clouds of honor before the death of all the people who lived at the time. There are many texts that prove this. For example, he says, "You will have not crossed the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes." Then he says, "Right here stand some who shall not style demise until the Son of man shall come into his kingdom;" and there are many places where it is quite clear that He believed the second would happen in the lifetime of many then living. It was the faith of his previous followers and formed the basis of much of his moral teaching. In this respect, He was clearly not as wise as some other people have been, and certainly He was not superlatively wise. "(Why I'm Not a Christian, 1927, p. 3)

It is no marvel why individuals and These teams, like these, continue to use these texts in a means, as a result of futurist advocates do not supply biblical solutions to fulfill such misunderstandings. This is primarily because these academics themselves feel that either Jesus would miss this prophesied coming or that he or his apostles misunderstood its timing. Neither of these calls into question the true legitimacy of Jesus, which the Bible prophesied of the Messiah, and thus the legitimacy of your complete Christian religion.

An account by the historic leader, George Eldon Ladd, of Fuller's Theological Seminary illustrates an instance. how the credibility of Jesus and his apostles is sacrificed in witnessing a futuristic position. In an attempt to elucidate forthcoming subjects, Ladd complained:

"These events are 'coming soon'." These phrases have made it troublesome for commentators. The simplest answer is to take a preteristic view and say that John, like all the Christian group, thought the coming of the Lord was near once they have been in reality flawed. Our Lord Himself appears to share this mistake from the purpose of view, saying, "This generation will not pass until all these things have happened (Mark 13:30)." (Comment on John's Revelation, Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans; p. 22)

rightly regards it as a direct assault on the independence of Jesus and his apostles. Statements, like his only further gasoline for already troubled hearth critics, have circled Christianity and its Bible stability. In response to Ladd's statements, Dr. R.C., founder and chairman of the Ligonier Ministries, Sproul replied:

“To be trustworthy, I find this dealing with of the question considerably disturbing. Ladd admits that the preterist view is the "simplest solution," but he believes that this leads us to the conclusion that the complete early Christian group, including the Apostle John and our Lord himself, was flawed. In fact, this is not a preterist view. The Preterist claims not only that your complete early church believed that the Lord would come close to (at the least in relation to His coming to Israel), but in addition that this religion proved true. "(Last Days In accordance with Jesus, p. 134)

True Christianity does not comply with man's harsh traditions, however as an alternative follows God's truthful word and spirit. Take into consideration the place human concepts have worn through the years. Critics burned Galileo at stake as he taught the earth to turn across the solar. Was he heretical simply because the clergymen of his day taught in another way than he did? William Tyndale translated the Bible into his widespread language immediately. He died within the arms of the "Church" who disagreed together with his perception that God's word ought to be out there to all individuals. Is this contradiction incorrect for Tyndale? What about Christopher Columbus? Was his perception within the existence of a new country a mistake because critics have been educating towards such existence? What if he had coated up his research at sea for his or her opinions or superstitions? Equally, are those that train stuffed eschatology flawed just because there are men who say so? Can Christians declare one thing biblical fact concerning the evidence they collect from the phrase of man or the word of God? Those that stand for Jesus and His Bible would certainly reply "yes" to God's word and "no" to man's phrase with such a question!

If Jesus is unable to satisfy his prophecies at the appointed time he and his apostles gave. then they critics are proper. This cannot be true, for we must keep in mind that all of the apostles and the primary century church have been ready for Jesus to return of their lifetime just because he advised them he needed (see John 14:26, John 16:13; Matthew 10). : 23; Matt 16: 27-28; Matt 24:34). The Church can not silence the accusations of critics. Our silence only reinforces their statements that Jesus is the failed Messiah. We should have strong, consistent, and biblically supported solutions that fulfill such claims. This requires that we soon train the language in query in the context by which it is written with out adding any human-inspired traditions. Such an answer is the heel of the critic Achilles, for it biblically proves the phrase of God to be true and thus Jesus is the victorious Messiah! Jesus, who fills in all the things written about Him perfectly, was the message of the early Church to the doubting world of his time; this similar proof is still our biggest response to those that immediately censor the phrase of God.

Six Points of Daniel 9:24 [6] (NOTE: The bolts, tops, and [bracketed words] included on this research are added for emphasis.)

One of the best testimonies of Jesus and His Bible subordination is in the achievement of Jesus Week 70. Impressed by the Spirit of God, Daniel prophesied six factors that it will be achieved within 70 weeks (490 years). Which means when these circumstances are met, we know that this 70-week forecast can be met. Listed here are the passages:

Daniel 9:24
(24) Seventy weeks [490 years] are decided on your individuals [Jews] and in your holy metropolis, [Jerusalem] [to accomplish six things] [1] to complete the crime, and [2] to stop sins, and [3] to commit reconciliation for iniquity, and [4] to deliver everlasting righteousness, and [5] to shut out vision and prophecy, and [6] to anoint probably the most holy. [19659007] This schedule is for a period of 70 weeks, which is 490 years. Observe that "490" (seventy occasions seven) is as many occasions as Jesus commanded Peter to forgive those who had sinned towards him (see Matthew 18: 21-22). No marvel Jesus used this quantity; it was the exact time God stated He would forgive before His judgment.

Daniel 9:26 says, "In thirty and two weeks the Messiah shall be cut." This passage confirms that these six passages might not be completed in time. the primary 69 weeks, however typically occur in the course of the 70th week. This specific designation is the rationale why week 70 was specifically reserved for the other 69 weeks in Daniel's prophecy. This schedule is defined as "seven weeks" (forty-nine years), "sixty-five and two weeks" (four hundred and thirty-four years) and "one week" (seven years), which corresponds to 490 years or 70 weeks. years (see Daniel 9: 25-27). The Messiah is imagined to be damaged within the middle of final week. This is what happened; Jesus was crucified for 3½ years in His ministry. This passage of the Messiah gave strategy to the entire achievement of Daniel 9:24.

The key question is: are these six passages of Daniel 9:24 already accomplished or do they nonetheless have to be completed? somewhere in the future? The solely reliable source of answer to this query is the Bible itself. From its pages we discover that Jesus Christ has already completed all these six passages in detail. We now take a look at where the scriptures affirm that they’ve been executed in each detail and in their foreseen timetable.

The Previous Testament repeatedly addresses Israel's transgression of God's regulation. Their previous crimes are what Daniel prayed for when the angel revealed that it was 490 years before the individuals of Israel committed the best offense – the killing of the Messiah. This great sin will put an end to the transgressions of Israel and render their city [Jerusalem] and their sanctuary [Temple] desolate. Jesus confirmed this coming destruction in Matthew 23, during which He warned the Jews of his day that destruction can be carried out towards those who insurgent towards His new covenant.

5. Deuteronomy 28: 1
(1) And it happens. to happen in the event you hear the voice of the Lord your God diligently, obey and obey all his commandments which I command you at the moment that the Lord your God will set you excessive above all of the nations of the earth: [see Deuteronomy 28:2-13 for blessings]

Deuteronomy 28: 14-15
(14) And you should not supersede any words I command you at present, proper or left, to comply with different gods. serve them.
(15) Nevertheless it shall come to cross, if ye will not hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and obey all his commandments, and his commandments which I command thee today; that each one these churches will encounter you and cross you by: [see the remainder of Deuteronomy 28 for curses]

Matt. 23: 29-38
(29) Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! as a result of ye construct the tombs of the prophets, and beautify the tombs of the righteous.
(30) And say, if we had been in the days of our fathers, we might not have been with them in the blood of the prophets.
(31) Subsequently ye are witnesses unto yourselves that ye are the youngsters of the killing of the prophets.
(32) Then fill within the dimensions of your fathers. [This is the identical as “finish the transgression.” They did this by killing Jesus and His messengers.] (33) You snakes, era of squats, how are you going to escape the damnation of hell?
(34) Wherefore behold, I send unto you prophets and sensible men and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and a few of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them metropolis to city:
(35) That ye might are available all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel unto the blood of Zechariah. Son of Barachia, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.
(36) Verily I say unto you, All this stuff shall come to move in this era.
(37) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are despatched unto thee, how typically would I’ve gathered thy youngsters together, as a hen gathereth her chickens beneath her wings, and so doest thou not!
(38) Behold, your home is abandoned

Word that Jesus stated, "All these things will come to this generation." This indicates that He referred to the era he spoke at the time. He reconfirmed this with Matt. 24:34.

Matthew 24:34
(34) Verily I say unto you, This era shall not move away, till all this stuff be fulfilled.
The Apostle Peter advised the Acts of the Apostles 2 Jews who have been guilty of killing their Messiah and that they need to save themselves from a era that has not been handled (stained or dangerous).

Acts 2: 36-40 Israel definitely is aware of that God has made the same Jesus whom you might have crucified, each the Lord and Christ.
(37) After hearing this, they have been put in their hearts and advised Peter and the remaining of the apostles, males and brethren, what we could do?
(38) Then Peter stated unto them, Repent, and be baptized each one of you within the identify of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall obtain the present of the Holy Ghost.
(39) For the promise is to you, and to your youngsters, and to all who are afar off, whilst many as the Lord our God calls.
(40) And through his many other phrases, he testified and exhorted, "Save yourself from this wicked generation." (19659007) The Apostle Paul also stated that this future anger shall be directed at his era.

1 Thessalonians 2: 14-16
. (14) For you, brethren, have turn into followers of the church buildings of God which are in Christ Jesus in Judah: for ye have suffered additionally as the things of your personal countrymen. , as they’ve of the Jews:
(15), who each killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and persecuted us; neither do they please God, and are towards all males:
(16) Forbidding us to speak unto the Gentiles, that they may be saved, all the time to satisfy their sins: for wrath is upon them exceedingly.

2. Termination of sins

In the course of the first Passover of Moses, the identical sacrificial sheep that gave judgment towards God's enemies additionally offered protection to God's allies. It was very comparable here too, besides this time the sacrifices took the form of a man named Jesus, and His sacrifice was not momentary, but ceaselessly brought redemption for the sin of mankind.

Albert Barnes's Remarks on the Bible
And to End Sins – Margin, "SEAL UP". The difference between this text and the margin is because of variations in Hebrew readings. The basic studying of the text is chathem – Chatham – "seal, seal." But the Hebrew marginal quantity is a totally different phrase – hathem, tamam – from "perfect, perfect, finish". “There is no right pointing of the word chatem within the textual content, which might have been a chetom, however Masoretes, as is not typically the case, gave the phrase pointing to another phrase that they had placed in the margin. There are fifty-five manuscripts within the manuscript (Lengerke), however the weight of authority is strongly in favor of joint reading of the Hebrew textual content – "seal" moderately than "finalize" as in our translation.

The marginal reading "to the end" was undoubtedly replaced by some transcriptors, or slightly "proposed" by Masoretes because it appeared to convey a better which means to say "sin would be ready" than to say. that it will be "sealed." Vulgate has followed the margin studying – et finem accipiat peccatum; Theodotion has adopted one other reading, sphragisaihamartias. Luther additionally has the “seal”. Coverdale, "for sin can have an end." THE REAL GIVING IS, DOUBLE, "YOUR ADJUSTMENT;" AND THE IDEA IS THAT, THE TRANSFER FROM THE VISION; REMOVING IT FROM THE SCREEN. "The expression is taken," says Lengerke, "a way of sealing the things that one overlooks and hides." Thus Job 9: 7: "And shut up the stars;" that is, he closes them like that. in the heavens to stop them from shining – to hide them from view. They are hidden, hidden, and made shut – with the contents of the letter or the package deal sealed, indicating that no one ought to take a look at them.

See notice to this paragraph. So also in Job 37: 7, referring to winter, it is stated, "He shuts off every man's hand, that all men may know his work." That is, in winter, when the snow is on the ground, When the currents are frozen, the farmer's work should stop. The hand can not be used for normal work. Every individual is prevented from going abroad to work accustomed to them, and he is "sealed" in his condominium. Examine Jeremiah 32:11, Jeremiah 32:14; Isaiah 29:11; Son. Four:12. THE IDEA OF FIRST PERSONNEL is that the sins of nature as they have been are sealed or sealed or concealed, in order that they are not seen or developed; NEXT, "They are inert, ineffective, powerless." – Testimony. Stuart. Language is applicable to anything that hides or obscures them from view – as a work whose writing is so closed that we can’t read it; a grave so closed that we can’t reach it and see its contents; a package deal so closed that we don't know what's in it; a room that is so closed that we might not be capable of entry it and see what's inside.

It cannot be anticipated that Daniel would see clearly how this was to be executed; but we, who now have the complete revelation of the tactic by which God can take away sin, understand the tactic by which this is completed by the blood of the Atonement, to rise to "YOUR mediation is not now given, or THE TREATMENT IF IT IS ASPECTIVE AND SYNTHETIC, RICH, INVESTED WHAT IT HAD. The language so used, as we can now interpret it, is strikingly applicable to the work of the Redeemer and the method by which God removes sin. In a few manuscripts and under pressure, the words in blue are singular. A number of authorities are in favor of common reading – sins – even though the meaning has not changed significantly. The work refers to "sin" and its function can be to shut it and hide it from view.

Matt. 1: 20-21
(20) But while he thought this stuff, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, worry not to take thy spouse Mary with thee; for what is designed in him is the Holy Ghost.
(21) And he shall bear a son, and thou shalt name his identify JESUS: for he shall save his individuals from their sins. "Acts Three:26
(26) First to you, God, who raised up his son Jesus, sent him to bless you by turning each one of you from his iniquities. (Acts 4: 10-12
) (19659007). Know to you all and to all the citizens of Israel, that by way of the identify of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the lifeless, by way of him this man stands before you all.
(11) This is the stone which your builders have deserted;
(12) Neither is there salvation in another: for there is no other identify underneath heaven (19659007) Romans 5: 8-9
(8) However God showed his love for us, because once we have been but sinners Christ died for us.
(9) Muc h then, once we now have justification in his blood, let us be saved from wrath via him.

Hebrews 9:26
(26) For then he typically had to endure because the foundation of the world: however now, at the end of the world, he apparently has left sin by sacrificing himself.

To the Hebrews 9: 11-14
(11) However Christ has grow to be the excessive priest of the great things to return, with the higher and more good tabernacle, not made by hand, that is, not of this constructing;
(12) Not from the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he once came into the holy place has been given us eternal redemption.
(13) For if the blood of the goats and the goats and the ashes of the filth contaminate the unclean,
(14) How rather more the blood of Christ, who by way of the eternal Spirit sacrificed himself without a spot to God, purifies my conscience from lifeless work; God?

Hebrews 10: 9-14
(9) And he stated, Behold, I’ll do thy will, O God. He takes the primary one out so he can arrange the second.
(10) By this we sanctify the physique of Jesus Christ once for all.
(11) And every priest stands every day. to typically serve and sacrifice the identical sacrifices that may by no means eradicate sins:
(12) However this man sat on the proper hand of God after he had provided one sin offering ceaselessly,
(13). ) Any more, until his enemies are made into his footwear.
(14) By that one sacrifice he has made good the eternally sanctified.

Titus 2:14
(14) who gave himself for us, that he may redeem us from all unrighteousness, and purify himself of a strange individuals, looking forward to good works.

1 Piet. 3:18
(18) For also Christ as soon as suffered for sins, the righteous unrighteous, that he deliver us unto God, slaying in the flesh, but quickening the spirit: [194590107] Revelation 1: 5
(5) ) And of Jesus Christ, who is the trustworthy witness and the first born of the lifeless, and the prince of the kings of the earth. For the one who beloved us and washed us from our sins in our personal blood, how might nobody ignore these or some other scripture that clearly exhibits that Jesus' sacrifice was God's complete and ultimate sacrifice for man's sins is far past me. , however the dispensationalists should, otherwise they might not create the required gap. I'd fairly consider what the Bible says concerning the work of the cross and the sufficiency of Jesus' blood than consider what a man's research notes say in the course of the "end-time" covenant of goats and goats, which the Bible says nothing about.

Some scholars consider that the word "reconciliation" ought to have been "reconciliation." It actually doesn't matter as a result of they both imply 'reconciliation or harmony; make it suitable or consistent. “After the autumn of Adam, mankind has been born into this world with the nature of sin. Such sin makes humanity a naturally born enemy with its Creator. With a purpose to change this state and re-establish a close relationship with their Creator, mankind wanted an atonement that would reconcile their nature again to God's nature. The blood of Jesus was the atoning sacrifice that provided mankind that opportunity, for His sacrifice delivered to man a new character that was not born after their pure father, Adam, however moderately, after their heavenly father, Jesus!

Discover in these verses how "atonement" and "atonement" are spoken of at Calvary, and now made out there to all by means of the gospel.

Romans 5: Eight-11.
(Eight) But God exhibits His love for us in the truth that while we have been still sinners, Christ died for us.
(9) Rather more, now that we are justified in his blood, we have been saved from anger via him.
(10) For if, once we have been enemies, we reconcile God by means of the demise of his son, far more, once we are reconciled, we’ll save his life.
(11) And not only that, we even have pleasure in God. our Lord Jesus Christ, via whom we now have now acquired the Atonement.

Colossians 1: 20-21
(20) And peace on his cross via blood, to make atonement with himself; in line with him, I say whether or not they are issues on earth or in heaven.
(21) And also you who have been as soon as alienated and enemies in your mind by means of wicked deeds, he has now reconciled

2 Corinthians 5: 17-20
(17) So somebody is in Christ, he is new creation: previous issues go; behold, all issues have turn into new.
(18) And all is God, who by means of Jesus Christ hath reconciled us unto himself, and given unto us a mediation;
(19) that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to themselves, that they need to not consider of their transgressions; ja on sitoutunut meille sovinnon sanalla.
(20) Nyt olemme siis Kristuksen lähettiläitä, ikäänkuin Jumala pyytäisi sinua meidän kauttamme: rukoilemme sinua Kristuksen sijasta, sovitkaa Jumalan kanssa.

Heprealaiset 2:17

Lause. 'handwriting of necessities' is translated from the Greek phrase cheirographon tois dogmasin. Cheirographon means something written by hand, but can more specifically apply to a authorized doc, bond, or word of debt. Dogmasin refers to decrees, laws, or ordinances, and on this context means a body of beliefs or practices that have develop into the rules governing a individual’s conduct or approach of life.

Also discover that the phrase ‘handwriting of requirements’ restates the phrase immediately before it. ‘Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us’ parallels ‘having forgiven you all trespasses.’ Thus, Paul might not be referring to the regulation itself however fairly to the report of our transgression of that regulation—sin!

The final sentence in verse 14 reads: ‘And He has taken it out of the way…’ In this sentence, the phrase ‘it‘ is a singular pronoun and refers back to the singular word ‘handwriting.’ ‘Requirements’ might not be its antecedent because ‘requirements’ is plural. So, some type of handwriting—a word, a document, or a citation—was affixed to the cross.

Traditionally, solely two objects have been nailed to the stake of crucifixion: 1) the condemned individual and a couple of) an inscription naming the crimes for which he was being punished. Thus, when Jesus was crucified, solely His body and Pilate’s inscription (‘This is Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews’; see Matthew 27:37; Mark 15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19) have been nailed to the cross. Normally, the inscription can be more accusative, saying one thing like, ‘This is Jesus of Nazareth, who rebelled against Caesar.’ Pilate’s complimentary inscription changed the customary notice or report of guilt—the ‘handwriting of requirements’ that might have been found nailed to the crosses of the 2 malefactors crucified with Him.

Simply earlier than He died, when the Father forsook Him (Matthew 27:46), our sins have been symbolically nailed to the cross in His physique. ‘Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed’ (1 Peter 2:24). At the time of His crucifixion, Jesus Christ turned sin for us. ‘For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him’ (2 Corinthians 5:21). Our observe of debt that we owed God as a end result of our sins is what was ‘taken out of the way’ and ‘nailed . . to the cross.”

It is straightforward to see this point is not referring to a coming 7-year tribulation the place the breaking of a covenant by some antichrist causes animal sacrifices to stop; however is as an alternative referring to Jesus Christ’s demise on Calvary, which glad man’s cost for sin and provided him a option to walk in close fellowship together with his God. Jesus’ sacrifice stopped animal sacrifices from being acceptable to God since there is now no scriptural cause for them to ever happen again. Jesus’ sacrifice also occurred 3½ years into His ministry, which inserts perfectly the description of the chopping off in the midst of Daniel’s last 70th week (see Daniel 9:27).

Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines righteousness as:

“Purity of heart and rectitude of life; conformity of heart and life to the divine law. Righteousness, as used in Scripture and theology, in which it is chiefly used, is nearly equivalent to holiness, comprehending holy principles and affections of heart, and conformity of life to the divine law. It includes all we call justice, honesty and virtue, with holy affections; in short, it is true religion.”

With out being led by the Spirit of Christ, no one would have the ability to stay as much as this definition. Webster’s additionally described righteousness as, “The active and passive obedience of Christ, by which the law of God is fulfilled. Daniel 9.” Even Noah Webster related the work of Christ to Daniel 9, as a result of he additionally recognized that Jesus was the one who ushered in everlasting righteousness for mankind, and thereby fulfilled this 4th point. These next scriptures help to point out why this is true:

Romans Three:21-26
(21) However now the righteousness of God with out the regulation is manifested, being witnessed by the regulation and the prophets;
(22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that consider: for there is no distinction:
(23) For all have sinned, and come brief of the glory of God;
(24) Being justified freely by his grace by way of the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation by means of faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins which might be previous, by means of the forbearance of God;
(26) To declare, I say, presently his righteousness: that he may be simply, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans Four:13
(13) For the promise, that he ought to be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, by way of the regulation, but by means of the righteousness of religion.

Romans 5:17-18
(17) For if by one man’s offence dying reigned by one; far more they which receive abundance of grace and of the present of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
(18) Subsequently as by the offence of one judgment came across all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free present came across all males unto justification of life.

Romans 9:30-31
(30) What let’s consider then? That the Gentiles, which adopted not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of religion.
(31) But Israel, which adopted after the regulation of righteousness, hath not attained to the regulation of righteousness.

The Bible exhibits the righteousness of God by no means might come by means of the Regulation, so this 4th point might not be referring to a future time of Regulation-keeping. Jesus stated, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). He referred to righteousness as being out there now. Paul “amen’d” that when he stated, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17). This was Paul’s method of saying God’s righteousness does not come by means of man’s faith of works but by means of man’s faith in Jesus’ work.

This prophecy seems to carry multiple which means. One interpretation says it fulfills and completes the prophecy regarding Jesus’ coming in the course of the time of the 490 years, and was not totally accomplished until the conclusion of the 70th week. Another interpretation suggests the phrase translated “seal” deals with the blindness that is placed on Israel because of their rebel. This blindness made them unable to see the prophecy achievement occurring around them. Regardless which of these will be the better interpretation, they each end with judgment coming towards Israel coming because of her rejection of the New Covenant (see Isaiah 6:10-12, Isaiah 28:9-12, Isaiah 28:15-18, Isaiah 29:1-Three, Isaiah 29:6, Isaiah 29:10-14; Matthew 13:14-15; John 12:39-41).

Either of these interpretations ends with the identical end result, which is that they have been both fulfilled during the time-frame of the 70th week and through the time of Jesus’ ministry. Both of these also show that era’s rejection of Jesus’ New Covenant culminated with the destruction of Jerusalem before that era led to 70 AD.

Greater than both of these first two explanations although is the truth that ALL SCRIPTURE LEADS TO ONE SUBJECT—JESUS. He is the One who stated, “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John 5:39). Paul equally agreed with this when he stated, “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith” (Galatians Three:24).

We see, from Genesis to Revelation, that the Bible speaks about one grasp plan of which Jesus was the main target. He was first talked about in Genesis Three:15 when God stated, “And I will put enmity between thee [satan] and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This is, of course, the primary promise recorded in our Bibles of Jesus coming because the savior for mankind. This promise was made at the time of Adam’s fall, and was given as an assurance from God that mankind would sometime receive from Him a restoration. This promise was carried all through the Bible and is now fulfilled as said twice by the Apostle Peter.

Acts Three:18-26
(18) But those issues, which God earlier than had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should endure, he hath so fulfilled.
(19) Repent ye subsequently, and be transformed, that your sins may be blotted out, when the occasions of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
(20) And he shall send Jesus Christ, which earlier than was preached unto you:
(21) Whom the heaven should receive until the occasions of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets because the world started.
(22) For Moses really stated unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God increase up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things in any way he shall say unto you.
(23) And it shall come to move, that each soul, which can not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the individuals.
(24) Yea, and all of the prophets from Samuel and people who comply with after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of today.
(25) Ye are the youngsters of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
(26) Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away each one of you from his iniquities.

1 Peter 1:9-11
(9) Receiving the top of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
(10) Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
(11) Looking what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that ought to comply with.

(See additionally Romans 1:1-2, 3:21, 16:25-26)

Jesus was God’s plan from the inspiration of the world (Revelation 13:Eight)

Keep in mind, this passage in Daniel uses the singular tense of “vision” and “prophecy,” not the plural. This exhibits these words are referring to a sure occurring, not to a number of totally different ones. This enables the prophecies concerning the coming judgment of Jerusalem to be excluded from this reference, and thereby allows the stream of all of Daniel 9:24‘s points to stay consistently focused on God’s grasp plan—Jesus.

This promise of Jesus’ coming to satisfy all the promises of reconciliation for mankind is discovered within the assertion that the heavenly voice pronounced at the Mount of Transfiguration. One well-known Dispensational instructor used this occurring as an reason why in Matthew 16:28, Jesus stated, “Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” This coming, he stated, happened just a few days later at the Mount of Transfiguration. There are more than a few problems with such a stance:

  1. Jesus would have seemed foolish to have prophesied such a factor. Think about a man standing in a congregation and proclaiming, “Thus saith the Lord; there are some here that will not die in the next few days.” Most would have stated, “Yeah, anyone here could have safely said the same thing…so big deal!” For Jesus this turns into even sillier if you understand the Bible data no tragedy or unusual incident occurring that brought on any of them to die earlier than this Mountain expertise happened.
  2. Biblically talking, such a place is utterly inconsistent with the other clear “soon coming” statements found elsewhere within the Bible. When Jesus stated “soon,” for Him to remain trustworthy, He should have meant “soon,” and not some hundreds of years later.
  3. Such a place makes mild of Jesus saying that some listening to His words then would not die until they noticed Him coming into His Kingdom. Such a statement is full of references to demise and glory. For it to be merely the Mount of Transfiguration would solely embrace the three, Peter, James, and John, and would go away out all the other apostles, disciples, and mankind from witnessing when and the way such an ushering occurred.

The fact is the Bible tells us why the Mount of Transfiguration passed off. It was so Peter, James, and John might higher perceive that Jesus was the Redeemer promised from the Regulation, the Psalms, and the Prophets, and in order that they might later testify about this to increase man’s religion in Jesus (see Matthew 17:9). Because the voice of God spoke at this assembly, it confirmed that Jesus was the One who was to satisfy all the biblical prophecies relating to the Messiah. The following is what Matthew recorded:

Matthew 17:5
(15) Whereas he yet spake, behold, a vibrant cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which stated, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am nicely happy; hear ye him.

To the Jewish mind, these words meant one thing more than simply a heavenly trade between God and man, for found within this proclamation are three snippets of scripture that reference the three divisions of the Previous Testament—the Regulation, the Prophets, and the Psalms. Because the voice of God spoke at this assembly, the apostles have been literally taking a look at Elijah (who represented the prophets), Moses (who represented the Regulation), and Jesus (who was the heir to the throne of the Psalmist King David). These three made up the biblical requirement of three witnesses to determine this fact of God (see Deuteronomy 19:15; Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1).

The first of these is when this voice stated, “My Son.” This assertion was referring to a Messianic prophecy discovered in the Psalms and was applied to Jesus in Acts.

Psalms 2:7
(7) I will declare the decree: the LORD hath stated unto me, Thou art my Son; today have I begotten thee.

Acts 13:33
(33) God hath fulfilled the identical unto us their youngsters, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.

Similarly, “Well pleased,” was referencing Jesus as He is described by the Prophets and was applied to Jesus in Matthew.

Isaiah 42:1
(1) Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth [well pleased]; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall deliver forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Matthew 12:18
(18) Behold my servant, whom I’ve chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is nicely happy: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall present judgment to the Gentiles.

The command to “Listen to Him,” was spoken by the Lawgiver, Moses. In Acts, Luke wrote that this command is to be utilized to Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 18:15
(15) The LORD thy God will increase up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; [Listen]

Acts 7:37
(37) This is that Moses, which stated unto the youngsters of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God increase up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

Jesus is the Phrase made flesh (John 1:1-14). He was the only One who fulfilled all that God promised concerning His salvation, thereby sealing up the prophecy and the imaginative and prescient of His coming by means of His life, dying, and resurrection. This is why Jesus’ last words on the cross have been, “It is finished.” Robust’s Concordance says the word “finished” means, “To end, that is, complete, execute, conclude, discharge (a debt): – accomplish, make an end, expire, fill up, finish, go over, pay, perform” (Robust’s G5055).

Darby’s translation of the Bible for this passage makes use of the word “consummated” in place of “finished.” In line with Webster’s Dictionary the phrase “consummated” means, “Completed; perfected; ended.” These phrases are in line with the view that Jesus sealed up, or made an end to, the visions and the prophecies foretold about His coming.

As soon as Jesus was nailed to the cross His master plan was put in unstoppable motion. Jesus had already informed His disciples that He can be crucified after which rise once more on the third day (see Matthew 16:21; Matthew 17:23; Matthew 20:19; Mark 9:31, Mark 10:34; Luke 9:22; Luke 18:33). He also advised them His resurrection would usher in a time that may reconnect (reconcile) man to God. When sin was introduced and accepted by Adam, he died spiritually, and the connection, or relationship, that he had previously enjoyed with God was severed. Jesus’ sacrifice modified all that since He turned our substitutionary sacrifice by dying in our stead, and thereby made a method for us to reside in fellowship once more with God.

This fulfilled the promise within the Backyard of Eden as well as the promise God made to Abraham (see Genesis 17:4-5; Romans 4:17-18). On this God stated He was going to make that previous man of religion a father of many nations. “Nations” is the Hebrew word “Goy.” Robust’s says this is a “foreign nation; hence a Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (Robust’s H1471). As we see this promise come to cross within the New Testomony, we see that it included Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles. This is what Jesus’ sealing of the vision and the prophecy did; it allowed entry to the Kingdom of God for each the Jews (see Acts 2), Samaritans (see Acts 8), and to the Gentiles (see Acts 10). Jesus referred to those Goy in Matthew 28:19, for there He stated to teach and baptize “all NATIONS” The phrase “nations” is “ethnos” which is equally outlined as, “A race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): – Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (Robust’s G1484). Jesus was actually removing racism by saying this as a result of, after the cross, all peoples have been of the identical race in God’s ebook, (see Colossians 3:11) and all suffered the identical drawback of sin (see Romans 11:32), and all were given the same supply of grace for salvation by means of Jesus Christ (see Romans 1:16).

Jesus sealing up the vision and prophecy with His coming ushered in a new and dwelling means and was the message of the Apostles.

Acts 26:22-23
(22) Having subsequently obtained assist of God, I continue unto today, witnessing each to small and great, saying none other things than these which the prophets and Moses did say ought to come:
(23) That Christ ought to endure, and that he must be the primary that ought to rise from the lifeless, andshould present mild unto the individuals, [Jews] and to the Gentiles.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Paul stated, “Therefore if any man be in Christ [the focus of the prophecy and the vision]he is a new creature [born again man]: old things are passed away [sinful Adamic nature]; behold, all things are become new [Christ’s spirit-led nature]. And in Galatians 6:15 Paul says, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision [Jew] availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision [Gentile]but a new creature.”

This is why the physique of Christ—Jew, Samaritan, and Gentile—might be described as a “holy nation” (see 1 Peter 2:9), as a result of those born again really are a set-aside dynamic new individuals. This defines the mystery of the ages, as a result of God all the time meant making His true Israel both Jew and Gentile together, and never meant making it the exclusive institution like some have defined it. Concerning this see Ephesians Three:3-6:

Ephesians 3:Three-6
(Three) How that by revelation he made recognized unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
(4) Whereby, when ye read, ye might perceive my information within the mystery of Christ)
(5) Which in different ages was not made recognized unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
(6)That the Gentiles must be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Colossians echoes this when it states…

Colossians 1:26-29
(26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, however now is made manifest to his saints:
(27) To whom God would make recognized what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(28) Whom we preach, warning each man, and educating every man in all wisdom; that we might current each man good in Christ Jesus:
(29) Whereunto I additionally labor, striving in response to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

(See additionally Romans 16:25-27; Ephesians 2:11-17; Galatians 6:15-16)

Let’s first agree on the definition of “HOLY.” Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines holy as:

“1. Properly, whole, entire or perfect, in a moral sense. Hence, pure in heart, temper or dispositions; free from sin and sinful affections. Applied to the Supreme Being, holy signifies perfectly pure, immaculate and complete in moral character; and man is more or less holy, as his heart is more or less sanctified, or purified from evil dispositions. We call a man holy, WHEN HIS HEART IS CONFORMED IN SOME DEGREE TO THE IMAGE OF GOD, AND HIS LIFE IS REGULATED BY THE DIVINE PRECEPTS. Hence, holy is used as nearly synonymous with good, pious, godly.
2. Hallowed; consecrated or set apart to a sacred use, or to the service or worship of God; a sense frequent in Scripture; as the holy sabbath; holy oil; holy vessels; a holy nation; the holy temple; a holy priesthood.”

From this, we will see that HOLY simply means “set aside from the world and set aside to God.” This definition also makes it clear that “HOLY” also means “WHOLEY,” i.e. “WHOLE.” This is precisely what a individual becomes once they totally consecrate their lives to God’s Will and Phrase—WHOLE! So through the use of this we will see that “MOST HOLY” means “THE MOST SET ASIDE WHOLE ONE THERE EVER WAS OR IS!” I need to ask who else BUT JESUS might ever really MOST match this definition?

The Bible tells us that Jesus is to be our instance. An example signifies He was the One which we should always sample our life after to realize; in this case, the objective of being the man God has referred to as us ALL TO BE. I consider this implies Jesus is THE IMAGE that God originally normal us all to be like. He is the actual WHOLE man! If Jesus was not THE MOST “HOLY”, then we are striving for less than what God has requested by following His example. Peter doesn’t assume Jesus is less. He stated that He is THE EXAMPLE that we should always search.

1 Peter 1:13-16
(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your thoughts, be sober, and hope to the top for the grace that is to be brought unto you on the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(14) As obedient youngsters, not fashioning yourselves in line with the previous lusts in your ignorance:
(15) But as he which hath referred to as you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of dialog;
(16) As a result of it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

So far as Jesus being the “THE MOST HOLY,” “THE MOST SET ASIDE,” or “THE MOST WHOLE” look what is stated regarding His objective and position.

Luke 6:40
(40) The disciple is not above his grasp: however every one that is good shall be as his master.

John 1:14
(14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the one begotten of the Father,) full of grace and fact.

John 1:18
(18) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is within the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John Three:16
(16) For God so beloved the world, that he gave his solely begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him ought to not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:18
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed within the identify of the one begotten Son of God.

1 John Four:9
(9) On this was manifested the love of God toward us, as a result of that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we’d stay by way of him.

Matthew 1:21-23
(21) And she or he shall convey forth a son, and thou shalt name his identify JESUS: for he shall save his individuals from their sins.
(22) Now all this was accomplished, that it is perhaps fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
(23) Behold, a virgin shall be with baby, and shall deliver forth a son, an d they shall name his identify Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Luke 1:30-35
(30) And the angel stated unto her, Worry not, Mary: for thou hast discovered favor with God.
(31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and convey forth a son, and shalt name his identify JESUS.
(32) He shall be nice, and shall be referred to as the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
(33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob endlessly; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
(34) Then stated Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I do know not a man?
(35) And the angel answered and stated unto her, The Holy Ghost shall encounter thee, and the facility of the Highest shall overshadow thee: subsequently also that holy factor which shall be born of thee shall be referred to as the Son of God.

I might go on and on about this, however actually this is simply the ABC’s that the majority young Sunday faculty youngsters study of their courses. I hope these scriptures help make the foundational explanation why Jesus is THE MOST HOLY clearer to you.

Dispensationalists say the phrase “to anoint the most Holy” does not check with the Lord Jesus Christ. They contend that the phrase is “kodesh kodashim,” which suggests “the Most Holy (place),” or “the Holy of Holies,” refers to a physical location in a physical constructing, which they say will probably be a rebuilt Jewish Temple. That would not be the case since there is not one scripture that says God will ever again have one other bodily Temple built, nor is there any that says He’ll ever again use its sacrificial system.

Moreover, God never actually needed a dwelling place built by palms, and He by no means stated He would return to at least one. Stephen supported this when before his martyrdom he stated, “Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?” (see Acts 7:48-49)

Jesus is the manifested “Holy of Holies.” The Bible says He is our “propitiation.” This implies He is our “MERCY SEAT.” This is THE PLACE inside the HOLY OF HOLIES, which God gave to man whereby he might come to make atonement for the sins of all mankind, and whereby he might supernaturally communicate together with his heavenly Father.

“PROPTIATION,” defined by Robust’s: G2435 hilasterion hil-as-tay’-ree-on
Neuter of a by-product of G2433; an expiatory (place or factor), that is, (concretely) an atoning victim, or (specifically) the lid of the Ark (in the Temple): – mercyseat, propitiation.

Romans Three:25
(25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation [MERCY SEAT] via faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins which might be past, by way of the forbearance of God;

This exhibits Paul was saying Jesus is our “Mercy Seat.” Because the Mercy Seat was situated inside the Temple, and beyond the veil (which is stated to now be Jesus’ flesh [see Hebrews 10:20]—one other reference to the Temple) of the Holy of Holies, we will see right here one other reference to Jesus being our MOST HOLY.

John stated Jesus is our atonement…

1 John 2:2
(2) And he is the propitiation [atonement] for our sins: and not for ours only, but in addition for the sins of the whole world.

Paul stated Jesus is our meeting place [Mercy Seat] via which we will speak with God…
[19659069]1 Timothy 2:5
(5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the person Christ Jesus;

John stated that Jesus was the Temple of the New Jerusalem (the Church)…

Revelation 21:22
(22) And I noticed no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

The time period “Holy of Holies” is a rabbinic evasive synonym for “where the presence of God dwells.” Each good Apostolic ought to amen that understanding because “where the presence of God dwells” completely describes Jesus!!

Jesus WAS WHERE GOD WAS! The Holy of HOLIES is a double emphasis that says “GOD OF GODS.” or “LORD of LORDS.” To say that this was NOT JESUS misses every part that the Oneness preachers I do know stand for.

Dispensationalists claim this “anoint the Most Holy” refers to a future Jewish Temple. But since there is not ONE SCRIPTURE that claims there ever might be such a Temple we will deduce that this can’t be the case. In addition to, Jesus stated He was GREATER than the Temple.

Matthew 12:6
(6) However I say unto you, That in this place is one larger than the temple.

Hebrews 9:11
(11) But Christ being come a high priest of good issues to return, by a larger and extra good tabernacle, not made with palms, that is to say, not of this building;

Hebrews 10:19-20
(19) Having subsequently, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
(20) By a new and dwelling approach, which he hath consecrated for us, via the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Daniel refers to something higher…

These truths present that this “anointing of the Most Holy” have to be referring to something larger than a constructing…something higher like probably the most Holy—Jesus. He was the One who was referred to as “Emmanuel,” which the Bible says is interpreted, “God with us” (see Matthew 1:23). Jesus’ coming allowed God’s presence to dwell (tabernacle) with man.

The anointing of significance that would fulfill this point from Daniel 9:24 occurred at Jesus’ baptism. That anointing was the inauguration of Jesus’ ministry for it manifested Him because the Messiah of God and ushered at first of Daniel’s 70th week. Jesus went from this anointing and commenced systematically fulfilling all of the Messianic indicators of Isaiah 61.

John 1:29-34

(29) The subsequent day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. [Make an end of sin](30) This is he of whom I stated, After me cometh a man which is most popular before me: for he was earlier than me.
(31) And I knew him not: however that he must be made manifest to Israel, subsequently am I come baptizing with water. [Unto Messiah the prince. This started the final week of Daniel when Jesus began His ministry of the New Covenant](32) And John bare report, saying, I noticed the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. [Anoint the Most Holy](33) And I knew him not: but he that despatched me to baptize with water, the identical stated unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
(34) And I saw, and bare report that this is the Son of God.

Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible

And to anoint the Most Holy, kodesh kodashim, “the Holy of holies.” mashach, to anoint, (from which comes mashiach, the Messiah, the anointed one), signifies usually, to consecrate or appoint to some special office. Here it means the consecration or appointment of our blessed Lord, the Holy One of Israel, to be the Prophet, Priest, and King of mankind.

Isn’t it ironic that the apostle Peter, identical to Dispensationalists of immediately, was at one time confused about God’s want for a manmade physical dwelling place for His Spirit? Peter was the apostle that prompt constructing Moses, Elijah, and Jesus a physical dwelling place on the Mount of Transfiguration. (see Mark 9:5) Later, after receiving the Spirit of Fact, Peter testified to the Jews (see Acts 2) and to the Gentiles (see Acts 10) t
